Apologies if this appears twice. The FHL server is
reporting a python error (server script error at Yahoogroups)
when I try to send from the web so will instead send by mail
using the posting address
ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Abscess is possible at the site of the tick bite, and
so could fibrosarcoma be
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/SG16198
but I am wondering if
some other possibilities (based on the image)
might also need to be considered, so example:
http://www.afip.org/consultation/vetpath/ferrets/Sebep/sebep.html
or (but it looks worse than they usually do):
http://www.afip.org/consultation/vetpath/ferrets/Mast/mastcell.html
One thing about ticks is that the seek areas with
good blood supply (which is why tortoise tick
counts are based on numbers around the anus)
so there could have been an underlying problem
which increased blood supply to the area, making
it more attractive to the tick, and that may have
since worsened.
How rapidly did this arise?
Any other details?
Sukie (not a vet)
