Subject: [ferrethealth] Post weaning/Going out of heat infection
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi hoping someone has an idea
My 3 year old Jill has recently weaned a litter and started to come
back into season for about 12 days before showing signs of going out
again. 3 days ago she became very lethargic hasnt responded to Baytril
(Antibiotic) Metacam, she has rapid breathing, Gradual to total loss of
hindlegs, small pus dischrage from vagina, unsteady on front legs and
is wobbly. She is taking some fluids and also Sub/C Saline, Have given
her Nutrical and trying "Cephalexine for urinary infections", as she
had not responded to the Baytril. Does anyone have some ideas as to
what it may be. Taking her back to the vet in about 8-9 hrs, I am
seeking some ideas.
Thanks from The Clan
Michelle
