Sukie,

After I got your post I contacted my vet and just to rule it out, we are
going to check for all strains of coccidia. His companion Ash is also
going to be tested. Both were quite ill when they were surrendered to
me in August and I wasn't sure they would survive. So it is possible
they may have already been infected before they arrived. Ash was
recently diagnosed with lymphoma and is receiving palliative care.

My vet doesn't think its very likely that it is coccidia but I'd rather
be safe than sorry and end up with something like that hitting all my
fuzzkids. The positive thing is that none of the others are showing any
similar symptoms to Sampson's; and I would expect Ash as the older,
sicker one to have shown symptoms first.
