The curtain is filtering the light so that
you are preferentially seeing more of the
blue component of the white light. Because
of the filtering there is probably less than
in the unfiltered white light.

Would another color filter out more of the
blue? Yes.

Will it make a difference if the
ferret has places to get to complete darkness,
if there is not a lot of added artificial
light, and if the day lengths are short?
Possibly not.
