To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Okay some thoughts on this.

You say their diet has not changed at all. Stool sample of one checked
out okay. Stools look normal. They are essentially healthy and acting
normally. All of which suggest that it is more likely that it is your
sense of smell that is more heightened and so their normal poop smell
has become offensive to you.

Couple of possibilities here:

- women's olfactory sensitivity fluctuates with hormonal cycles. For
example, women who are pregnant find many smells offensive that normally
they have no problems with. By the same token during our menstrual
cycles there are times of the month when smells are more bothersome
than other times. During peri-menopause the whole thing goes wacky and
odor sensitivity fluctuates like a roller coaster. Certain medications
can affect our sense of smell.

- litter boxes are not being cleaned/changed as often

- indoor heating during colder season 'cooks' smells making them more
pungent

Some possibilities to consider...
