Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: VERY STRONG STINKY SMELLING POOP
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

How old are the ferrets? If young and the feces is
very stinky ECE is among the things to consider.
Young ferrets don't become as ill with that as adults.
Standard fecal tests will not help find that. (The
new coronavirus turns out to be mutated from
ECE rather than from FIP in genetic tests so it
should be safe enough to say that ECE has been on
multiple continents for a number of years now
due to the presence of the new mutant in Europe as
well as in North America.)

Coccidia is also among the possibilities and both
genera of that tend to require multiple stool checks
during bouts of diarrhea to be found.

Those are two very common causes of very
stinking ferret feces.
