Unless they take separate samples some for culture and some for histo
they won't get an answer. The histopath cant tell you if it is
bacterial or viral only suspicions Culturing the organs or running
specific viral tests could prove quite costly too so some vets just do
the histo. If the bacterial stuff was a concern then cultures should
have been requested. Hope this at least explains why you might not
have the answers you are looking for. Best of luck in your search for
the answers you so desparately need.
