Subject: [ferrethealth] Mucous poops
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
I recently had my little guy Huck to the vet. He was diagnosed with
proliferative colits based on his symptoms. He would have mucousy
poops and diarhea. But not all the time. Atleast 2 times per day.
Then normal. So we treated him with chloramphenical for 10 days and
everything went well, with the occasional mucousy poop in the morning.
But his appetite and everything came back well. It has been 2 weeks
since we stopped. Today he had more mucousy poops, twice and one sorta
diarrhea(not totally liquid but not a true ferret poop). Does this
sound like his proliferative colitis is coming back? Does it even
sound like proliferative colitis. He will be 11months really soon. He
was having problems pooping when he was first diagnose. He would run
around from spot to spot til it finally came out. And when they took
his temp. he cried like it really hurt. Never had any ferret cry when
they took their temp before.
