Just wanted to post that someone mentioned off list that I had used
the word phenobarb (aka phenobarbital) in the post on Felicity's
euthanasia. It was a typo - I meant pentobarbital. Pentobarbital is a
short acting barbiturate which can be used for euthanasia, whereas
phenobarbital has different characteristics which make it more usually
used as a tranquilizer or sleeping pill. My parents had a pharmacy in
a small village when I grew up in South Wales, and "phenobarb" was a
common prescription item in the early 60's for ladies in the village
who had trouble sleeping.
