I have heard privately that this has shown up
in at least one Mid-Atlantic state with multiple
deaths and that liver damage and kidney
damage have been seen. Now it has been in
one home in PA.
Here is what is needed:
If you may be dealign with this or have done
so recently (keeping in mind that some reports
with mysteries always turn out to be something
else instead), please, post with:
When this happened (or if it is current)
Symptoms
Tests done (and if you can get results to post
then so much the better)
Where you are located?
Possible routes of exposure to illness:
Did you attend a show?
Did you add a kit? If so, pet store, breeder, or shelter?
Did you have a playgroup?
Did the ferrets attend a show or go to
pet store, breeder, or shelter?
Did you go to any of those places without
the ferrets (looking to see if it may carry
on shoes or clothing by someone unknowingly
bringing it in or taking it to other locations)
What treatments were tried? Please, give details
on how the ferrets responded and also for how long.
Anything else ypu can think of that may be relevant,
please.
