Sorry, I am posting between home repairs. We have our hands full today.
There also is no real reason the "name names". The origin is less important than figuring
out:
1. the ways it spreads (which is why knowing if gatherings happened)
2. how easily it spreads (for example, can people bring it home or carry it in on clothing or
shoes perhaps, or does it need more direct contact)
how rapidly it spreads
3. symptoms (and if you went to a gather then how long after where there symptoms)
4. treatments
5. tests
6. cause
The only reason actual origin may come to be important is if this mutation can arise again
because that piece of info -- possible multiple origins *IF* that comes too apply-- can
possibly be useful later. When there is just one origin if the spread can be halted by
altering behaviors then thousands of ferrets can potentially be saved.
