Just a thought.
Has anyone contacted county animal shelters, veterinarians (other than your own) in the areas experiencing this to see if they are seeing something similar in the dog/cat population?

I lost Noel in February. She came from the county AC. I kept her in quarantine here for several weeks, and she seemed fine. She was obviously adrenal, and had surgery.

3 weeks post op she suddenly presented the symptoms you all are describing and she did not respond to any treatment.

Necropsy showed her intestines had dissolved, path came back indicative of ECE.

Noel had been separate from my other ferrets, but in the same room area.

Non of the other ferrets were affected.

I don't *think* what she had was what you are experiencing, but wanted to make mention of just in case.

I don't go to shows, but do go to local shelters, foster homes, and our educational events at PetCo/PetSmart on a regular basis.

Also AC and HS.
To my knowledge nothing like this is occurring here, but I will be very watchful and careful.
