Hi Debbie,

I have two with congenital catarracts, both just over a year old and
both DMK rescues. Catarracts appear like white discs in the eyes,
although early on the eye does have what appears to be a white cast
over it with uneven density. Kind of like a whitish blob that comes
and goes.

If she is not showing obvious discomfort in that eye, example,
squinting, watering, or pawing at it, then it may be a catarract. An
injury or infection would probably have some of the clinical symptoms I
just mentioned. Catarracts don't seem to hurt or bother them.

Of course if she is showing signs of pain or that the eye is bothering
her a visit to the vet before Xmas might be a good idea.

sound like an emergency or can it wait until after xmas?
