Subject: [ferrethealth] Intestinal Lymphoma and yellow mucus diarrhea
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
I searched the archives and really didn't find anything.....maybe I
don't have the searching down to an art yet....
Pheelia is almost 7, has been diagnosed with intestinal lymphoma.
She is on pred which has really helped to shrink the one really large
tumor that was causing a bulge in the side of her lower abdomen. She
is also on clavamox due to the diarrhea that the vet believes to be a
virus. The calvamox has worked great and stools are very close to
normal. We have tried to take her off the clavamox, its now been
almost 4 weeks, her poop, within 24 hours goes back to the yellow
mucus poops. She has another appointment with the vet and they want
me to bring in a sample so they can do a culture.
Pheelia is already underweight. She is getting soup with Carnivore
Care in it to help her along, but I fear if we can not find a way to
control the diarrhea better she will waste away, and I am concerned
of long term use of antibiotics and the body becoming immune to them.
Is there something else she should be on med wise? Is the diarrhea
caused by a virus that often shows up with lymphoma? I would really
like to get some weight back on her
Pheelia for now is happy and eyes still bright. She still enjoys
her playtime, altho now only about 30 minutes and then seeks out a
place to sleep. She will make appearances throughout the day, wander
the room, eat, drink and use the potty and then head back off to
sleep.
