I do not believe it was something in my household either. I have been
using the same foods, same bedding, same cages, same water and food
bowls for years.
When the first couple of blood work results came back with instant
kidney failure, I must admit the whole melamine tainted food thing came
to mind, especially since that seemed to affect the kidneys too.
Of course my ferrets were being taken care of by others when I was at
the symposium, but no other ferrets were or are ill there. A person
could pull all their hair out trying to figure out where this thing came
from. And my other 8 are perfectly fine. Why it kicks the snot out
of some and leaves the others totally alone is a mystery to me.
