Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Succesful treatment of recent ECE outbreak with no losses
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Every time there has been a newly emerging illness
(and I have been part of discussions on ECE when it
first appeared, two incredibly horrid strains of coccidia,
DIM/myofasciitis, the FIP-like mutant of ECE, and now
this) there have been some cases which look very similar.
That isn't really a problem ultimately because it means
that everyone learns what things can look similar to
each other, how vets tell one from another, and how to
treat multiple things. That all saves ferrets.
Telling one from another -- when possible -- helps all
learn so we all benefit, and the important thing is that
the ferrets benefit. After all, improving health care and
saving ferrets' lives is what this is all about.
