The smell was strong but not as bad as you describe. Both sides were
the same, there was no sign of infection. The fluid was expressed
with no excessive pressure applied and seemed to all come out in one
go with further pressure not producing any more than the original
amount. The expressed fluid was not similiar to any infection or
abscess that I have ever seen but a uniform yellow similiar to that
seen when dogs glands are expressed. It was not accompanied by blood
or variations in viscosity that you would see in an abscess.
I hope that it will resolve the issue as I believe that descenting an
adult ferret is fraught with difficulty in removing all the relevant
tissue and any remnants can still produce the oils which would then
drain into the surounding tissue as there would be no other exit.

Tony (not a vet), Sugar and Suki.
