All of the symptoms your ferret is displaying (clawing at the mouth,
salivating, diarrhea, and seizures) can be attributed to insulinoma. I
can't imagine why your vet would refuse to check glucose, as it's a
very simple thing to do, but your ferret does need to have his glucose
checked. If your vet is unwilling I would suggest finding another vet
asap. Until then, frequent high protein meals may be helpful. This,
alone, will not help indefinitely though. The illness can be treated
long term with Prednisolone.
