Many years ago, my vet and I went with Corid experimentally for
treating a case of coccidia in my group. My memory is fuzzy, but I
think that this choice had to do with concerns about a complicating
condition in one of the ferrets that contraindicated Albon, the more
usual treatment of choice. Or maybe we'd already used Albon... it
was too long ago and I don't remember the specifics. In any case,
there was some logical reason we tried it. :-)
Bottom line: the Corid worked just fine in fixing the coccidia
problem, but it was simply AWFUL to administer. The form we purchased
was a powder for mixing. The taste was incredibly bitter, a lot like
our good friend Flagyl. It was very difficult to get down the
ferrets. By contrast, Albon is sweet and I've never had a problem
getting ferrets to take it.
We still had to treat the environment (steam cleaning carpets, etc) as
a standard part of the treatment. Albon is a heck of a lot easier!

I've never used that.
