Sorry, your vet is uninformed. That's not surprising though because it wasn't till recently that the information on how to import the Deslorelin was made more public on forums.

Our vet ordered the Deslorelin from Peptech in Australia (you can find more informaiton on contacts in the archives - http://ferrethealth.org/archive/FHL9969).

Our vet had to fill out FDA import forms. From time of order till the time we received it was 4 weeks, because it got held up in customs in LA. Fortunately our vet had crossed all his t's and dotted all his i's and it finally made it to us. The shipping fee was $150. Our vet contacted his adrenal ferret clients to combine orders. On Monday I had 7 ferrets implanted. These ferrets were older boys (6-8) and 1 younger (3 yr old Rainbow Exotic) female who also had a cyst removed from between her shoulder blades.
