Hi, Eri,
Splitting the dose into three might work better. My big question is
this: If Kitty is three have you considered surgery? My ferrets who
have had insulinoma surgery over the years have done very well
afterwards. In at least one case, my Ker Avon, the surgery was
curative. In other cases it provided a symptom-free period followed
by a much longer period where a very low dose of prednisolone was
adequate for maintenance where it wasn't before surgery. In all cases
the activity level and quality of life was markedly improved after
surgery.
Most recently my Chin Soon had insulinoma and adrenal surgery (both at
the same time) back in April. She is absolutely her old self and is
acting like a young ferret again. Chin Soon is six years old.
Anyway, this may be something you want to discuss with your vet and consider.
All the best,
Caity and the terrific trio (Chin Soon, Ella and Zephyr)
