Subject: [ferrethealth] Logan (AV Block) Update with new symptoms
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Logan has been getting Isuprel for his AV Block. There, have been absolutely no changes in his heart rate. He has started grinding teeth and we've been trying to avoid the full 4 med regemine of meds for ulcers since giving them stresses him out so much and tends to trigger episodes.

This got bad after we were trying Isuprel and theophylline together for a day. He's now pooping liquid poo on himself that smells absolutely foul. He's falling over constantly (think someone spinning in a chair and then trying to walk) and he isn't interested in anything to eat.

His glucose now seems to be under control. He's taking prednisone twice daily, Isuprel (which we're doubling as of today) every 4-6 hours, sucralfate 3 times a day and omeprazole once a day. We just added in Amoxi-Clav. and Clarith. today.

I'm scared it's something more. I had a ferret with lymphoma that went to the brain last year and she did the pooping/walking thing the exact same way. Her's was more gradual and his is sudden.

I have the next available appointment with the vet on Wed. morning. But, I'm scared outta my mind for my guy.

I read in some previous posts that they suspected the AV block was caused by secondary infection. I wonder if that's the cause (His glucose will jump around 100 points in the matter of minutes) Hopefully, I'm not grabbing as straws here. I tried contacting the previous poster but they've changed their email. Any further insight is greatly appreciated.
