Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Help with IBD
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I was once told that a ferret in pain will have his whiskers spread apart and pointing forward(when he is at reat and not getting into things) and from my observations this seems to be true. My ferret has IBD and I treat him with metronidazole also, he gets 4ml twice a day for 20days, with yogurt (help meds. go down & good for his gut), canned pumpkin, also pred.(then weaned off). My ferret is young and has no other ailments. The only thing I can suggest is upping his metronidazole dose, of course ask your vet.
Best of Luck with Willy

[Medications come in multiple concentrations
and some also have the dosing depend on
weight of the animal or other factors, so
always check with the treating veterinarian
before changing any doses.
