Lisa make sure you keep his airways open so he can smell his food to eat an=
d make sure he is drinking plenty. To keep his nasal passages clean, take a=
bowl of very warm water with a teaspoon of salt, soak a facecloth in it an=
d then squeeze out gently, hold it over the ferret's MOUTH AND NOSE so he h=
as to breathe in the salty vapor.=A0This will help clear the airways and sh=
rink any swelling inside the nose, do it 3 times a day. You might want to d=
o it right before you give him some chicken babyfood, this will be much eas=
ier for him to digest, plus it will add needed liquid---Angela.

[Moderator's question: How do you prevent aspiration into lungs with
this method? We like to use a commercial clothing steamer but make
sure to not hold a ferret any closer than we put our own faces to
prevent injury.=20

Yes, reducing congestion really helps to allow them to smell food and
eat it. Heated food and stinky food that is easily swallowed like A/D
also help. ]
