Hi, read your post on the FHL. As a librarian I can tell you that textbooks are often outdated soon after they published. Information changes so rapidly.
The Quesenberry and Carpenter book is available. Click below. However most of the used ones are from 1997. The latest edition is 2003.
That means the info is 7-8 years old which is a very long time in human or veterinary medicine. Anatomy and physiology does not change much, treatment
and meds sure do. Treatment of ferrets often is a result of a vet's experience, ferret knowledgeable or not and personal bias, and willingness to try new things.
Having said that, the Quesenberry book (2003) looks good for anat/phys and pathology but one of the best places for treatment options is the internet or FHL
