If he has arthritis, make sure he has plenty of soft, thick bedding in his
cage, and that it is set up so it is easy to get around in, particularly
that food, water and potty are easily accessible from the bedding. Cold
temperatures and hard surfaces make arthritis much more uncomfortable (I can
speak from my own experience with this) and it can be hard to get moving
when you first wake up as the affected joints stiffen when not moved for a
couple of hours, so having an easy to access potty is really important for a
ferret with arthritis, they are going to move slower and wait longer to get
up and go to the bathroom.
You might also want to talk to the vet about giving him a joint health
suppliment as well, which should help to slow the progress of the arthritis.
