Subject: [ferrethealth] Question about a rescue

I rescued a little girl today, about a year old. She is bright eyed, active, eating and drinking and came with a lovely cage, but I threw out everything else she came with, as it was riddled with a smokey smell. I am grateful for the young lady who surrendered her, but what do I look for in a ferret who has spent a year in a smokers home?
