I had a similar problem with my Suki who never ever poofed. In the end she needed to be expressed every 5 weeks,she never had an infection but a large volumn of oil was expressed every time, somtimes jetting out with great force (never point the rear end of a ferret you are expressing at anyone you like).
Finally she had her sacs removed surgically and recovered perfectly.
