Subject: [ferrethealth] Someone please help my baby....
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi everyone, I can't believe I finally found a forum devoted to fuzzies. I am at my wits end right now conerning my baby boy, Bruce. My husband and I just moved into a home with our two ferrets. One ferret is fine, the other seems to have developed allergies (sneezing, watery eyes, and a little runny nose). He has never had any of these symptoms before. We know that the previous owners had two dogs. The carpets were professionally cleaned before we moved in. We took our ferret to the vet, who also suggested he might have developed allergies, but to what we don't know. He is on a steroid and taking children's Benadryl (2x) a day. He eats, and that's about it. He just runs right back into his cage and sleeps. I noticed that he's shedding really bad, and his sense of aim seems a little off (ie missing the ferret lax opening to the bottle). We have made another appointment for next wednesday, but I'm desperate to make things better for my little guy now. I have since placed an Io
nic Breeze in his room to help with any allergens that might be lurking. We also use dye free, perfume free detergent, just in case. But it seeAny information as to what else we can do to make this better for him, or any ideas as to what he might be allergic to would be great or if its somethingelse all together. Thank you for you time.

[Moderator's Note:
Many of the ionic or electrostatic air "cleaners"
have been associated with causing higher ozone
levels and some also release everything they are
holding if a brown-out occurs or power is
otherwise lost. You will find many reports about
this if you look.

To check your type go to
http://www.google.com
and type in
"ionic breeze" +ozone

Click open results.

and you can check more broadly with other terms.

I'm just putting this here for you to check more fully
because some types are very dangerous to lung health,
but I don't have time to look them up for you.

A hepa filter cleaner is a much better idea for air
cleaning.

Also, look up
steam or steaming
