Subject: [ferrethealth] ferret had lump removed NOW has new lump
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
have 2 vets ideas.
one that did the surgery 2 months ago.. it was biopsied as cancer
now says there is a new lump in same place
says he can remove it and normally another will appear and each time it will shorten the ferrets life.
["Cancer" as a word means very little. Find out what TYPE of lump it is. Is this a skin lump? Mast cell tumors are malignant in OTHER species, but in ferrets they almost never are malignant and sometimes they return. So, ask the TYPE of growth

the older vet .. says that there is a lump or scar tissue and he FELT another knot behind it and the previous vet must have not removed ALL of it.
[What is the location? In the skin? In an organ? Which organ, if so?]
now the newer vet has the newer equipment for surgery.
I do not know which one to use..
and if the knot just really returned Or the previous vet surgon missed something.
any thoughts on this.. as i need some ideas.. on what is right and which vet to see.
