Subject: [ferrethealth] Wullie
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I do not know if this the right forum for this but I felt I had to write something to people who understand how I am feeling. I have an older ferret and he seems to beginning his crossing of the rainbow bridge. I know that ferrets die and I am glad he is dying of old age and not some catastrophe. I am just so sad, I love him so much. I lost his brother earlier this year to a tumor and I hate to lose Wullie. If this is the wrong location for this I apologize.

Lance

[Moderator's Note:
Why don't you tell us some things about Wullie's's health,
Lance? It may be that he has a treatable problem. People
here can help find ferret knowledgeable vets in many
locations and can help people know how to treat for medical
needs of ferrets. The FHL is a great place to learn how to
postpone or avoid the need to mourn by saving the ferrets.

A great way to start is a vet appointment. Even without
asking here first about who is in your general location
you may find vets to help you by looking in places like
these:
http://ferrethealth.org/vets/
http://www.ferret-universe.com/vets/vetlist.asp
http://www.ferret.org/linkmenu.html
and in the SOS list which tells which vets the member
shelters use:
http://www.supportourshelters.org/

When ferrets pass many FHL members send private notes.
To keep the number of posts from becoming too high for
the vet members we do ask that those be done privately
if they don't contain new health content.

When a ferret is lost the FML (different from the FHL) has
people who help. They are called Bridge Greeters. The
FML's information is:
