Subject: [ferrethealth] Is there such a thing as mechanically induced IBD?

Hubble has a tender gut (in that many things cause diarrhea for him)
BUT he is also a Garbage Belly who looks for things he is not supposed
to eat and then eats them. Control is harder now because it simply is
harder to spot food that has dropped with our eyesight. My vision is
worse than Steve's but he is often distracted, so be both are
culprits. (We do have plans to replace our flooring , so then clean-
up and spotting may improve. It's a matter of getting time for that
project.) So, Hubble gives himself diarrhea and I think that the
proportion of time that he has it is increasing.
Can such problems over and over again through the years mechanically
induce IBD (keeping in mind that IBD is a catch-all category for
ferrets)?
