Ferrets are prone to various types of skin tumors. What you're seeing could be a mast cell or basal cell tumor. Either has the potential for malignancy, though both types are most often benign. Best to have it checked and removed if deemed necessary. If removed be sure to have it biopsied to be sure of what you're dealing with.
