Sharon,

If you check past posts of Dr. Bruce Williams you will find that
ferrets do not have any documentation of ever having had strokes.

They do at times throw clots due to specific causes. You can find
more about these by looking up thromboses in the easily used separate
FHL archives (second link in my signature lines). They can look like
that.

If you look up past posts from Danee Devore you will find links that
may be useful in knowing when ADV testing produces false negatives
since I am sure you'll want that info given that your vet thought that
ADV was a possibility.
