Please note that products containing phenylpropanolamine (PPA) are no longer
generally available in the US without a prescription. The FDA issued
warnings regarding phenylpropanolamine back in 2000; the majority of
companies voluntarily reformulated their products following that
recommendation. Earlier in 2009 the FDA sent notification of intent to
remove PPA from the OTC market; almost all manufacturers/distributors have
pulled products containing it (mostly diet products, as was also used as an
appetite suppressant). That is why US Triaminic now contains phenylephrine
as a decongestant. Canada pulled OTC PPA back in 2001; however,
formulations containing PPA may still available in Europe according to
wikipedia.

So in the US and Canada, you shouldn't have to worry about Triaminic
containing PPA...but *always* check ingredients listings on any medication
before giving to your ferrets, and clarify any uncertainties with your vet!
