Well I do not speculate on things I do not know the facts about, I submitted this report in case it may save a ferret's life.
Why not use selamectin instead? much easier than trying to devine what the facts behind the death may have been.

moderator note: Selamectin is the active ingredient in Revolution, which is primarily a preventative. From what I could gather, it won't kill the microfilaria well enough to be effective with active heartworm infection. That being said, we are not vets, so would defer to the vets. As the hardest part of treating active heartworm with any treatment, is that as the heartworms are killed off there are serious complications that can occur.
