I've never dealt with constipation in a ferret before but I did have a ferret who had inflammatory bowel disease. I had him on Hills feline z/d for several years and it helped in controlling his disease and reduced the dose and frequency of his steriods. As far as I known it never caused any problems. He passed away a few years ago from kidney problems. I hope this little tidbit helps.
