Subject: [ferrethealth] Is ferret vite bad for ferrets?? or can it lead to insulinoma??

Ive always given my gang ferretvite just about every other day. I do know that they should not have sugar, but it was recently pointed out to me that because of the corn syrup in it that it can lead them to getting insulinoma. I guess I never really thought about it up till then because it is vitamins. Should the ferret vite (by 8 in 1) be banned from my household? They just love it and go crazy for it. [There is a hypothesis that such sugars
can lead to insulinoma but as far as I
know there has not been any hard
research which sufficed well enough
to make it into any journals at this
point. That doesn't mean it doesn't
happen; it just means that it also can
not be assumed yet that it does happen.
