Subject: [ferrethealth] Follow-up Re: perplexing skin condition - vets & I need HELP w/ diagnosis!

Follow up: Someone has suggested the problem could be parasites or a chemical burn/reaction to the lawn fertlizer. Well, Charlie WAS walking on the grass at the park and this is why *I* first suspected a chemical allergic reaction but vet #1 said "No" and ruled it out early on. She never did prescribe anything for parasites but vet #2 started Charlie on Ivermectin 1x/week and he's had 3 doses to date but hasn't changed his condition (although I know that parasites are not easy to get rid of and it may take a while)
Vet #2 is also now running an endocrine (adrenal) panel although I'm not thrilled about this and not convinced it's going to tell us anything substantial (also not thrilled about the $185 cost!!).
What other tests are available at this point and what will they tell us (or rule out)?
In the back of my mind, I'm still leaning toward my initial thought that this is a chemical burn from the lawn fertlizer but what test(s), if any, would confirm that? And I'm open to the hypothesis about the parasite so maybe the Ivermectin will work?
Jennifer & Charlie (trying to stay optimistic)
