Interesting, he hasn't been on pred for quite some time now. I would think that if it was something like that the swelling would have occurred closer to when he was weaned from the pred. Good to know.

The fact that the swelling has gone down in that foot and another foot has started to swell makes me believe it's more than some type of tumor forming at that spot.

I appreciate all the ideas and thoughts though as it gives me things to discuss with the vet.
