Hi Anita,

Recently we dealt with one of our ferres having both coughing and sneezing fits. We were told to look for nasal and eye discharge but he didn't have any. The sneezing & coughing can be signs of an infection and/or allergies. Our vet had us put Orion on an antibiotic and on children's benadryl for 10 days. So far his symptoms are gone and it is already weeks later. But we are watching to see if any of it starts up again - because the coughing can be a sign of cardiomyopathy. If he starts coughing again we will take him in for a heart x-ray.

I would say that it is definitely best for you to take Freddie in to the vet. It is better to be safe.

Please let us know what the vet says.
Jules
