Subject: [ferrethealth] Two shelter ferrets
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>
We work with our local shelter here in CT, and we have two ferrets that have us concerned and a bit confused.
First, Pepe has this habit of standing up, wrapping his front legs around a table leg, and peeing. No one we know has ever seen a ferret do it. Maybe an adrenal problem? He is altered, but aggressive with other ferrets, too. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Second, one of our Fosters got a melatonin implant on Wednesday. On Thursday evening, he had some kind of reaction; The foster mom said he was throwing up and his nose & gums went white. He didn't want to eat, either. Next morning he was fine. Seems a little long for a reaction to the implant, but I'm wondering if anyone has seen something like this.
