Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Need help! Vet is at a loss!
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I think blood work is very important here, although I am not a vet. I have never had a vet sedate the ferret in order to draw blood, I think maybe once they might have when the ferret was very unruly. I have seen three ferret knowledgeable vets so maybe your vet feels uncomfortable with this procedure on such squirmy guys? Not sure.

After 6 ferrets, I feel like in my humble opinion, most ferrets I have seen with chronic diarrhea wound up having kidney problems and/or a tumor growing somewhere. This has only been my experience though. In these cases Denasyl and Ursodiol helped immensely.

Good luck!
