Blood glucose levels that high indicate diabetes from what ever cause. I have had a spontaneous diabetic we have been treating for just about a year now. Other causes can be infection, it can result from overuse of steroids for other conditions, glucogonoma tumors in the pancreas, many reasons, whats important is to monitor it closely and if he doesnt go down on his own you will need to get him on some insulin therapy and get it under control.
If he does need insulin I have had the best results with Lantus glargine insulin, its a long acting gentle insulin for humans but works very well in ferrets and felines.
If I can offer any assistance with diabetes or more information please contact me by email, I would be happy to help.
