Subject: [ferrethealth] Is this an allergie? I need advice!
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Some of you may know of Rhea, an Ohio baby. I posted when I first
received her because she was attacking me. At that time, the vet and
I decided a melatonin implant would maybe work to clam her a bit, and
it did. With LOTS of work Rhea is no longer an aggressive bitter! ; )
However, for about 2 months now she has been losing her hair. I
should mention I have since moved to Orlando. I had taken her to a
local vet who said not to worry it was just the time of year. OK this
vet was not all that ferret knowledgeable. Then I took Rhea to see
Dr. X [Name removed as per FHL rules]. Dr. spoke at out Orlando
forum a few years ago. Dr. explained that it was allergies. We gave her
melatonin implant to see if this would work. I do not believe it is working=
.
She has little red patches on her butt. She is NOT descented and was
altered at about 5 months old. She is losing hair only from her upper
back down. Not so much on her legs. The tail is almost hairless.
I have placed 3 photos of this area in the album section=85

Its not the cutest album cover!
In any case please give me some ideas.
