Dear All,
I need your help, because we are at a loss.
We went out for New Years Eve and when we arrived at home, my 2,5 years old whole sable hob, Morgan, was waiting for me laying.
It wasn't so suprising for me, because it was late evening. I closed him to his cage and I gave him some food (they got natural diet - mainly poultry). He was eating, but later I have noticed that something was wrong with him.
He was very hot, he was shaking, he whimpered and only just laying. I took him out from the cage and I let out one of my jill, to check Morgan's reaction (in normal case he tried to mate that jill). Morgan was only laying and when the jill touch him, he was crying. I tried to call him to me, but he refused coming...
We took him to vet immediately, he has fever (41 Celcius - appr 105,8 Fahrenheit). He got shot for treating fever and he got antibioticum shot as well.
His fever disappeared to morning, but he was in lethargy.
He had poop, he was eating and was drinking a lot. Yesterday he had a blood test with the following results:
Quantitive blood
WBC: 6,600 G/l
RBC: 9,540 T/l
HGB: 174,000 g/l
PCV: 0,448
MCV: 47,000 fl
MCH: 18,200 pg
MCHC: 388,000 g/l
Thrombocyta number: 193,000 G/l
Qualitative blood
Neutrophil: 92,00%
Lymphocyta: 7,00%
Eosinphil: 1,00%
Biochemist:
AST (GOT) 192,3 IU/l
ALT (GPT) 337,2 IU/l
ALKP 32,3 IU/l
Amylase 15,1 IU/l
Lipase 77,7 U/L
Carbamid 18,8 mmol/l
Creatinin 172,4 umol/l
For today, he refused to eat, only just he is drinking.. he refused baby-meal, duck-soup, vitamine pastas, etc..
Yesterday he was walking a little bit, today he didn't want or if he walks, he is very weak..
Our vet tried to give him infusion, but one of his vena was destroyed (because of the blood test) and he didn't find the others:(.
He is just laying, laying and laying... I have another 6 ferrets and everybody is in good health.
If somebody has any good idea, please help me..
Regards,
Kriszti
