ProMed-mail is a reporting system for the International Society for
Infectious Diseases which monitors emerging diseases/toxins in plants,
animals and humans. A recent digest Jan 2nd mentioned the new disease
seen in ferrets and reported here on the FHL. The post mentions much
of the information that has already appeared on the FHL and appears to
use an article on the Small Animal Channel as the main source along
with perhaps info from the FHL itself. Excerpts from the complete post:

[We apologize for the lateness of this report. - Mod.PC]
Ferrets with severe dehydration and diarrhea might be suffering from a
possible new strain of epizootic catarrhal enteritis <<<
>>>ProMED-mail would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows
information, which can elucidate the cause or epidemiology of this
outbreak in ferrets. - Mod.PC]<<<
They also mention the mapping of the outbreaks - I can't remember who
set that - up but the info can be found on the complete post found at
ProMed's website at <http://www.promedmail.org> (it's the last post on
Jan 02 2009).
