Okay, have the ferrets' sinuses been scoped?
You say that antibiotics worked for a while.
Was the source of the infection traced? Did it
originate in the sinuses, or in a tooth root, or
secondary to foreign matter or a growth in a
sinus, or secondary to a problem behind an eye?
Was the pus cultured? Which antibiotic
was used and for how long?
It sounds like what you are seeing is drainage
through fistulas. A fistula is an abnormal
opening or passageway, which can form for
reasons including drainage of an infection.
There are other options, but since antibiotics
helped once i am hoping that this is what is
occurring, in which case it would pay for your
vet to have a closer look, do a culture with
antibiotic challenges to find which antibiotics
work best, and also what the origin of the
problem is. All of those things will determine
what course to take.
So, the first step is a very prompt vet visit.
