Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: URGENT TOMMIE WALKING SIDEWAY, PALE GUMS taking to vet need advice
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Usually pale gums indicates a low red cell count and that the ferret is
anemic. If there are bleeding ulcers, it's very important to get that
under control as well as supplementing for the anemia (petTinic, etc.)
Bleeding ulcers can perforate the stomach or intestines which if
untreated, could kill a ferret quickly.

The sideways walking may be due to weakness.

I hope it goes well at the vet's. Keep us posted.
