I use the Advantage also and, until recently, a flea shampoo. My daughter is a vet tech and she said they never use flea shampoo. They just leave the regular shampoo lather on them a couple of extra minutes before rinsing. This suffocates the little varments. I didn't believe it until I tried it but it does work. The thing I especally like about it is that there's one less chemical they're exposed to.
